Well I found out one of my cousins died, and it was all so sudden. Makes ya just wanna appreciate every last day you got and live it like you mean it. I really do miss my family, and as each day goes by I feel they miss a part of my life, cause they are there and I am here. In the email from my mom she said ''...God is taking his people back home..''. It just doesn''''t seem real, since I left home so many people have died.
On the same day I found this out I had a study night over at a friends house with like 13 other people. In the begining I was just there, and everyone was like what happened, but I really could not get into it. I eventually told one of my friends, but then i felt bad cause it was her birthday...then she felt sad too.
The night ended up being very far from a study night, as no books were ever opened by the majority. We chilled, watched movies, ate.... They had one game called lightning, real stupid. Basically it was like a sireen with a flashing light and four metal handles with cables attached to the box. Four peeps played at a time, each holding a handle...the sireen would go off and when it stopped and the light turned green you had to press the button on the handle. Whomever pressed it too fast or too slow got and electric shock. Now that was stupid, so I did not bother to play that. They then played twist...and you know how that goes when people end up all contorted over and around each other trying to get their hands and feet on a particular colour on the mat. We started watching ''Eurotrip'' \(the movie\), then some bright person took it off to watch some other junk. Sometime later they brought out the birthday cake, which read Happy Birthday 45! Peeps were like..''who’s 45?'' They had added this birthday and a previous together \(24+21\). Then you know the typical...cut the cake and eat..blah, blah...
Ooooh no! Then out of the blue the guy sitting next to me surcummed to the peer pressure of this other guy R who told him to, and decided to take a handful of cake icing and smear it on my face. Oooh no! No, no no1 You know I try to be nice, but I was not taking that. I grabbed me a handful of left over icing and passed it on. Well you know what happened next...everyone had the idea to get involved, and icing was all over. I was kinda worried for Joe, cause that was the one thing he did say was not to mess up his apartment. Finally it got finished!! Then of course as most American parties go, they had a drink out. So out came the shot glasses and the patron, and whatever else they were drinking. But that was not really my speed...not about to kill any brain cells. Couple guys fell asleep and then the action began. They wanted to write on one of the guys head with a silver permanent marker ''I like guys!''. I was like no way. That is crazy, first off it was permanent marker. Others suggested putting ice on him. I did not really wanna participate, so around 3:30am I had kinda had enough, so I wanted to sleep. Cause it was soon gonna be 24 hours since I had been up. Of course when you around all university students it is not safe to sleep. So I asked J to use his room, went in and locked the door. Of course 13 other creative architecture students could come up with a way to break in. So they did and attented to take some whack pictures around me sleeping \(but of course I wasn''''t really sleeping, cause I heard them come in\). Anyway the main idea was to make sure that my face was not visible. Finally they settled down and I guess fell asleep, and so it was peaceful until first light when people got up and sneaked out. I really wished I had a car, cause I would have been so long gone.
Is this the African American Culture? I just don't get it sometimes, when they have fun cussing each other out for no apparent reason, the b word, the f word, and all about peoples mama. There is like one white guy who hangs with us, and they keep trying to get him to say the n word and the b word. They just be ''acting a fool'' as they call it. I just found this so funny when one of the guys bought a gold bottom plate for style. Why on earth would you do that. Someone told me his fiancee has the upper gold plate so they can match up when they kiss. This must be some rapper culture. I really don't get it. And they guy ain't bad looking at all, actually he got some looks. But the first time I saw that I was like uh uh! Then the first time I rode with this guy and some other friends, I thought his car seat was broken, cause it was way back and he was using his elbow to prop himself up in the seat to drive. But then when I rode with another friend, I figured it would have to be a culture thing, cause he was doing it too. I know his seat could not be broken also.
Thursday we got the hook up, when they had an I-Fest with Middle eastern food. It was the place to be in the grand ballroom. Free food and black people, you know the place was packed. One of my friends even went late for class, cause she came with us for food. This weekend was the last game of the season, but this sista couldn't make it. After getting back home like 7am the Saturday morning I did not get up till like 12, and the game was at 3pm. A no way! Did some work at studio and waited for a ride home while my friends who I was waiting on played ice hockey with two wooden sticks and the cover from a drawing paper roll. I was so ready to be home, but of course when u beggin a ride you gotta chill.
So here we are Sunday night, weekend gone...not enough work done. I am so tempted to run down the hallway screeming.....aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Ok maybe not! Kinda made progress. So we will see how the week goes.
